Mason Police maintains a variety of records pursuant to state and federal law. See below for different sections on records and reporting.
Central Records
The Records Office is the main repository of information for criminal incidents and all reportable motor vehicle accident reports. The Records Office is also the first point of contact for citizens and visitors to Police Headquarters who are seeking information. The staff of the Records Office maintain the vital documentation of incident reports and provide valuable assistance to the public. View Central Records page for more information.
Clery Act Reporting
Mason Police keeps the Mason community informed of crimes, threats, and emergencies on campus in compliance with the federal law known as the Clery Act. View Clery Act Reporting page for more information.
Freedom of Information Act (FOIA)
Mason Police complies with the Virginia Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) by responding to all requests for incident reports and other public records in our custody. View Freedom of Information Act page for more information.
Community Policing Data Act
Mason Police complies with the Virginia Community Policing Data Collection Act by collecting and reporting community policing data. View Community Policing Data Act page for more information.
UAS (Drone) Flight Log
Mason Police currently operates small Uncrewed Aerial Systems (UAS) or “drones” for use in law enforcement and public safety incidents. View UAS (Drone) Flight Log for more information.
