The police department is temporarily taking police reports via phone (in lieu of in-person traditional reporting) to report non-emergency property crimes that are not actively occurring and do not have a known suspect.
The police department is encouraging the use of phone reporting out of public health concerns. GMU Police can be reached via phone at 703-993-2810 and ask to speak with an officer to make an over-the-phone report of a property crime.
Examples of property crimes that can be reported by phone without needing to do so in-person are theft, vandalism, and fraud. Officers will advise on additional documentation needs to complete a report as necessary.
