Campus Assessment and Intervention Team, CAIT
“The Campus Assessment & Intervention Team, (CAIT) is committed to improving community safety through a proactive, collaborative, coordinated, objective, and thoughtful approach to the prevention, identification, assessment, intervention, and management of situations that pose, or may reasonably pose, a threat to the safety and well-being of the campus community.”
In adherence to Virginia Code 23-9.2:20 GMU has established a Threat Assessment Team, comprised of representatives of student affairs, law enforcement, human resources, counseling services, and residence life. The team meets on a regular basis to evaluate threat referrals develop case management plans and, if necessary, intervene in a manner appropriate to the situation.
